Wow... seems to work with two different tuners at once, which it didn't do last time I tried it. Thanks for the heads-up, Matthew!

I plugged in my old EyeTV USB for DTT (a Cinergy Terratec T2), and a Freecom 25451 (appears as a Miglia TV Mini) and it worked fine (albeit slowly) on my iBook.

The Freecom ones are only £22 inc. VAT at the shop round the corner, so I think I'll be picking up another one tomorrow morning, giving me two tuners for record on the Mac Mini, and one for casual channel-hopping on my iBook. I can then watch the recordings on the iBook remotely over the network.

Interesting... the question is whether it'll work with two different tuners, rather than one of the combined ones. Since I already have two separate tuners, I'd rather not have to buy another one!

I'll have a play using EyeTV 3 and see what happens.

Well, I can confirm that version 2.5.1 works well with dual tuners. The limit seems to be in USB's bandwidth - I'm also using an external USB hard disk to store my data from my C2D Mac Mini, and using Live TV Buffer doesn't work too well with dual tuners. Turning this off (or making it as small as possible, and putting it into RAM) makes it work much smoother.

Dual tuners make it much easier to have pre and post padding effectively meaning you don't miss stuff, as well as being able to record two things at once.

I've also got a Turbo 264, which should be able to encode to h264 in real time on my machine, but it still only does it after the program is recorded, not as it records. Otherwise you could effectively stream the data over a wireless network.
