Hi, I bought the o2 cocoon, just because it's one of a kind :) (I'm the only one in Holland with this phone). Can you tell me how and if I can update my firmware? I can't find a firmware update tool anywhere. And also, how do I check which firmware I run on my phone? Hope you can help!

Hi, congratulations for your review. I live in France and I was given the cocoon by a friend of mine from brighton who happened to forget it in my place as he was on a visit in France. Yet we don't know where he left the charger (or "nest" as you seem to call it). As O2 does not even exist in France, would you by any chance know where I could find a second hand "nest" on the net ?
Cheers,
Nicolas.

Hi Tom, we at Streative were thrilled to see your review about the Cocoon. Maybe you should have a look at www.alifewithin.com to see in details the process of the whole design process.

or download the booklet: http://www.alifewithin.com/press/Streative_ALifeWithin_Book.pdf

Cheers,
Nalden

Incidentally, the transfer of contacts via Bluetooth isn't actually that bad. It's a little tedious, but does result in a (slightly) better job than transferring contacts via SIM.

Use Address Book.app's "Export" to get your vCards. This will result in a single file.

Use vCard Splitter to split the big file into lots of little ones. The Cocoon ignores all but one vCard in a .vcf file.

Use "Send File..." in the Bluetooth menu, or "Bluetooth File Exchange.app" (same thing) to transfer the files to the Cocoon. Wait for the transfer to work.

Go through the list of received files on the Cocoon, saving them as you go. You might find that some are munged or missing data.

Manually handle the munged ones.

Of course, this is no substitute for a proper iSync, but it's better than having to type them in by hand, or have the SIM transfer *really* munge them.
