Just so you know, the 10% discount code came up as invalid for me - I guess they think they've already given us enough off with this offer!

Following up...

I went ahead and bought another Freecom 25451 from Novatech down the road, and it didn't work. Turns out, the older one is a Revision 3 (USB ID 0x14aa:0x0226) and the new one is Revision 4 (USB ID 0x14aa:0x0160). They look identical from the outside, but R4 does not currently work with EyeTV 3.

I'm exchanging it for a Hauppauge Nova-T tomorrow, which is £6 more, but supports EyeTV officially.

In other news, EyeTV 3 is still fairly nice to use, but has crashed nastily a few times for me. It seems to have a habit of failing to find shared archives, and then beachballing when the "Share my EyeTV Archive" is switched off and on in an attempt to whack it into gear.

I look forward to EyeTV 3.0.1.

It seems to work fine with two different tuners, as well. I'm not sure whether this is new to EyeTV 3, but it certainly didn't work last time I tried...

I plugged in my old EyeTV USB for DTT (a Cinergy Terratec T2), and a Freecom 25451 (appears as a Miglia TV Mini) and it worked fine (albeit slowly) on my iBook.

The Freecom ones are only £22 inc. VAT at the shop round the corner, so I think I'll be picking up another one tomorrow morning, giving me two tuners for recording on the Mac Mini, and one for casual channel-hopping on my iBook. I can then watch the recordings on the iBook remotely over the network.
