AVMA also provides help in pursuing complaints and gives support.
In 1995 an NHS Litigation Authority was set up under Section 21 of the NHS Act 1990. The authority administers the Clinical Negligence Scheme for NHS Trusts, ensuring that claims by patients against NHS Trusts are handled sensitively and fairly.
