'Categories Of Drugs'

Drugs are divided into three categories:

  • General Sale List (GSL) medicines such as paracetamol (in certain size packs) which can be sold over the counter of ordinary shops.

  • Pharmacy (P) medicines which can be sold only under the supervision of a pharmacist in a pharmacy.

  • Prescription only medicines (POM) which can be supplied only against a doctor's prescription.
