A GP can remove a patient from his or her list without needing to give a reason why. If this happens you will receive a letter from your Health Authority/Board telling you this and advising you to find another GP. If you are unable to do so, the Health Authority/Board will help you find a new doctor. You are entitled to receive treatment from the former GP for 8 days (from the date of the letter that you have been removed from the list) or until you are accepted by another GP, whichever occurs first.
