In discussions between the Post Office, the Royal Fine Art Commission and other agencies, the colour 'Post Office Red' is confirmed as the standard colour of telephone kiosks, with the exception of kiosks situated in areas of exceptional natural beauty, in which case they would be painted in 'Battleship Grey' with window bars and frames outlined in red.
