'June 3'

The Palace announces the King and Queen and other members of the Royal Family will be registering for free medical care under the new NHS. It is reported that consultants to the Royal Family "will henceforth be paid for a service previously considered an honourable duty".

'June 5'

The Aga Khan's 'My Love' wins the Derby.

'June 6'

A young boy is blown over a 200 foot cliff at Whitby, Yorkshire while looking at a seagull's nest over the cliff fence. He survives with a cut to his cheek and two black eyes. Rescuers find him dazed and sitting upright on a ledge at the foot of the cliff.
