The King and Queen are present at the opening of Sir Laurence Olivier's film, 'Hamlet at the Odeon in Leicester Square. Tickets to the public are priced at three guineas, two guineas and one guinea.

'May 7'

Due to the shortage of beer in the Midlands, the Ministry of Food promises an additional allocation of 25,000 tons of barley to brewers.
