The Royal College of Nursing is joining with Wyeth to celebrate NHS 50 by focusing on the importance of women’s health. The emphasis is on good health - physical, emotional and psychological - and more importantly, well being in later life.
The social pattern of women’s lives has changed over the last 50 years with increasing employment control of fertility and the emergence and management of life threatening disease. There is still much to be done. However, little is known about how the whole picture fits together, where gaps in information and understanding are, and what can and should be done separately or collaboratively to improve women’s choices both before and after the menopause.
Through debate, discussion and dissemination of information, the RCN and Wyeth will celebrate the achievements of the last 50 years and look to the future opportunities in promoting women’s health.
