Description of Health Service

Health care service provision in Canada is mainly a provincial responsibility. The ten provincial governments are responsible for public health services as well as personal health care. Each province follows different models of healthcare provision but there are enoiugh common characteristics to describe the system as a national health service. All prescribed medical treatment is free to the patients at the point of delivery. The services are financed by the government and public insurance premiums..
