Hilary Spiers at North West Anglia Health Authority has been leading a search to find a favourite bloom to celebrate the NHS's Anniversary. Working with Philip Harkness, from internationally-renowned rose breeders and growers 'Harkness', of Hitchin, she believes she has found just the right one.
The special rose will be named and launched at the Rose Fair in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, the theme of the whole fair being the NHS's 50th anniversary, around noon on Sunday 5 July 1998 - the NHS's birthday.
