'Dietitian'

'What do they do?' Dietitians use their knowledge of nutritional, medical and social sciences to devise appropriate eating patterns.

'Educational and age requirements' Five GCSE subjects including maths and one which demonstrates a good command of English and two science subjects at GCE A level, one in chemistry (or equivalent).

'Training and qualifications' 1. Four years study leading to a degree in Nutrition (with State Registration in Dietetics) or a degree in Dietetics.

2. Two years post-graduate study on a diploma course in Dietetics. (Both include a period of practical training in hospital).
