'Occupational Therapist'

'What do they do?' Occupational therapists assess and treat people using purposeful activity to prevent disability and promote independent function.

'Educational and age requirements' Five GCE/GCSE subjects, two of which must be at Advanced or equivalent A/S level. BTEC National Diploma/Certificate and GNVQ qualifications are accepted, and entry is also possible through validated Access courses.

'Training and qualifications' Three or four year degree, two-year postgraduate diploma and four-year part-time in- service degree. Some degree courses are offered part-time.
