'Optometrist'

'What do they do?' Optometrists perform eyesight tests and prescribe corrective lenses.

'Educational and age requirements' Five GCSE passes in certain subjects, with at least two science subjects at GCE A level or equivalent.

'Training and qualifications' Three years full-time leading to a university degree. Further year’s clinical experience during which time the professional qualifying examination is taken before registration.
