'Optician (dispensing)'

'What do they do?' Dispensing opticians make up spectacle and contact lenses to prescriptions.

'Educational and age requirements' Five GCSE subjects or equivalent in maths or physics, English language or literature, and a third science-based subject with the remaining two subjects being optional.

'Training and qualifications' Two years full-time with a further year's experience, or three years part-time.
